I'm going for a purely decorative saber, so no blade or sounds or light. So far what I can gather I would need are:
Pommel
Hilt
Blade Holder
Insert for Pommel

Anything you can think of that I am missing or would really make it a great piece? Thanks much!

Play with the MHS builder to find a design you like. Some people like chokes, other people don't. There are plenty of options to make a saber that you are happy with.

Don't forget the MPS clip to hold the pommel insert in place. A blade plug would also be nice to make the "business end" look a little more finished.

Feel free to add a switch for decorative purposes. If and when you upgrade to a functional saber, you'll already have that part in place. Also, a method to attach the saber to your belt, if desired. Covertec clips are popular, as are D-rings.

If you want to make a "decorative" saber, using things like a trim ring, or two (the gold ones look nice) would also help to add a little "bling". ;)

Things to consider:
- tap the blade holder for a set screw
- buy a set screw
- get or make a blade/plug
this will cover the big gapping hole where your LED would be.
Also if you have the money, come up with a color scheme and have your pieces powder coated with the order.

Are you planning on using a holster or just putting it on a shelf? If not you should include either a belt clip or the Covertec Clip on it.

Thanks for the help everyone. This is exactly the kind of info I was looking for. All the "small" parts that I was liable to miss as this is my first time. Silver Serpent mentioned switches and I saw these http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MWS-Short-Momentary-16mm-AV-Switch-Nickel-P878.aspx and thought it was be great to have a switch that "glowed" with a color to make it feel a little more "alive." I also saw this was pre wired and was wondering what I would need in order to just get the switch to glow. I was looking at battery packs and had no clue beyond that. Is it as simple as I think in buying a battery pack and pre wired switch and hooking them together? Or is there more involved? Also this is the hilt I'm looking at getting http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Hilt-style-2-P869.aspx. Thanks all!

Yes, you would need a battery pack to power the LED in that switch, and then a charger to keep the battery charged. You could also just go with the gold plated switch http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/16mm-Anti-Vandal-Momentary-Gold-Plated-Switch-P470.aspx , since that is a static hilt.

What you posted is just one piece of a hilt, the main body section. It takes more than that to make a hilt.

With that particular prewired switch, you could run it with a pair of AA alkaline batteries.

The nice thing about the MWS system, is that you can eventually add in a main blade LED, the momentary-to-latching converter, buckpuck, and li-ion pack for a functional stunt saber.
