I have three Hasbro "removable blade" FX sound boards, two of them will not turn off, but the 3rd works fine.
Two of them had blown switching transistors that made one segment of LEDs in the blade stay on all the time, so I replaced them.
The one board that works just fine is one of the boards I repaired. One of the two boards that stay on didn't need a transistor replacement.
With the two boards that are always on, if the battery pack is installed and I attach a blade they make the blade connect sound and then immediately ignite with FX sounds and all as if the power switch is on. They both do this even if the power switch is off or even completely disconnected from the circuit. The also turn on if I start with a blade installed and add the battery pack...
I have removed the switches and tested them, and they both tested as ok.
I also checked to see if there was a short on the boards, but I have not found anything else out of place.
Can anyone here point me to info on how to fix them?
