I have the Nano Biscotte Sound Module V1, and the Seul P4 White, and a 18650 3.7 Li-ion battery which all works well enough.
But, working in a ANH Graflex chasis I really need space to work in a new crystal chamber, accent led for crystal, hidden recharge port, etc.

I would like to try using a 3.7v Li-Ion 1400mAh battery such as the 18500. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Li-Ion-18500-37V-1400mAh-PCB-Protected-Rechargeable-Battery-Module-P775.aspx (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Li-Ion-18500-37V-1400mAh-PCB-Protected-Rechargeable-Battery-Module-P775.aspx)

As I understand batteries, the difference in mAh between the 18650 and 18500 just means I'll need to charge it more often and wont be able to run it for as long as I would with the 18650. I'm not that concerned with a shorter usage period between recharges as I'm not out fighting the Sith very often. :) If the P4 takes 1000 mAh, and the accent LED a bit more, I expect I'll get around 1 hour or less usage but practically speaking probably closer to 20 minutes given the NB starting to flake out around 3.4v as the battery drains. I'm sure my understanding is a bit off on that 3.4v vs mAH comment. :)

So, I just want to get confirmation I can run this setup at all with a single 18500 before I arrange to ship a few batteries across the border (to Canada) by taking Tim up on his offer to go out of his way on small battery orders by Fedex.
That is if I can't find a protected version direct shipping from inside Canada. I found a few places, but they don't say they're protected.

Thanks,
Al

The 18500 will be fine. You are correct, you will just need to charge it a little more frequently.

If you're only getting 20 minutes of runtime on that battery, you likely have a defective battery. I wouldn't expect less than 40 minutes on a full charge, and probably much closer to a full hour.

Thanks SS. I'll have to wait and see what a new battery last for as I'm currently mid re-build, and have nothing completed to test a new battery in.

Oh yeah. I dont know how long mine runs with this setup but its definitely longer than 20 minutes.

With the setup you mentioned, you should get in the neighborhood of 1 HR 10 Minutes of runtime.
