Ok I guess you are talking about an Xbox, try a web search and I bet you will find a xbox forum that could help you. The only other thing would be to take a hammer and smack it till it stops making noise.

if you are talkin bout the xbox 360 then try takin a can of pressurized air to the fan filters

Well, that's definitely your fan. Either your 360's overheating and a fan that's not normally supposed to be on is running, or the fan's not working correctly. Make sure the console's fans are all clear, and nothing's blocking them.

If that doesn't work, try kicking it.

When did you get the 360? Microsoft is now taking back and replacing all the broken 360s manufactured before a certain date (can't remember it now...); you might be able to cash in on that.

But look on an Xbox forum; they'll probably help you.

I've got a better solution, though:
Take the 360 to a GameStop, and tell them that you'd like to sell it. Then take that cash and save it for the Nintendo Wii's release on Novebmer 19th. :D

darthmonkey, i went thru 3 360's before giving up, bought it for project gotham 3, first unit went 20 seconds before it fried. second one wouldnt play doa 4 under any circumstances... another return. the 3rd lasted 3 months before having major lock/crash issues, at which point i returned it for the last time to best buy for a replacement and sold it on ebay with the note to the buyer that i had the extended warantee and they should go imediately to they're local branch and replace the unit i sold them... all in all i was very dissapointed with my 400 dollar investment and have since gone back and built a modded box including a copy of the 360 dashboard i copied from the last version i had, and to be honest it runs much smoother than the 360, plays titles from both, and is roughly 32 % stronger than the premium 360 that i had for a whopping total of 280 dollars... seems a much wiser investment to me!

i never bought a 360, because 1) i wouldnt really use it that much. 2) so many crappy glitches that make me so f-in crazy, and 3) at 400 bucks its not that cheap and id rather buy a saber than that.
