Hey guys hope all is well and happy holidays. I was wondering when would one use a Momentary Switches as opposed to Latching, and why. Thanks again.

This is partially correct. The nano requires a momentary, but MR/hasbros boards require latching, and the PC allows latching or momentary for the activation (momentary switches are always required for auxiliary effects, such as lock ups and blasters.

A stunt build (no sound) will require a latching switch, as the switch needs to open the cirtcuit to get power to the led. If you used a momentary it would only power if you held the switch dow. Soundcards such as the Nano and PC bypass this using special firmware.
