ok I want a good purple blade color........ this is what I have come up with. I am told to run the blue and red in parallel, at 2000mA and resister the red. That's a lot on a first build but I as sure I can do it I just need help with the math. First is the FoC Think I have got it. This is my LED

LED Engin LZ4 10W Multi Color (RGBW) with a 7.4v Li-ion 1050mAh 14650 Battery Pack.

7.4 source voltage
3.3 diode forward voltage
1000 diode forward current (mA)

The wizard recommends a 4.7 Watt capable or greater 4.7 ohm resistor. The color code for 4.7 ohms is yellow violet gold.

What I don't get is the Parallel. So I run the neg from the PC 2.0 to the neg on the blue. Then run a wire from the pos on the blue to the pos on the red? and then a wire from the neg on the red back to the pos on the board? lol a little help please.!!!

What you described in your wiring is a serial connection, not a parallel one. Parallel wiring is running a wire from the board (+) to the red (+) and a wire from the board (+) to the blue (+), and likewise the board (-) to the red (-) and one from the board (-) to the blue (-).

ok I have looked at that but I don't see where it discusses a setup like I want to run.....

I just told you how to wire your blue and red dice in parallel... As far as which resistor to put on the red, you will have to experiment to see what you like. ;)

Head over to The GCS website. Madcow has his "shop secrets" how to video series there...it cost a few bucks, but you get access to the vids for a year. One of the vids is a how to on wiring up multi-di LEDs ( tri-rebs / tri-crees and LEDengin ). Seeing someone solder the wires was a Eureka moment for me.

There is also a sticky dedicated to LEDengins. Just run a search for "LEDengin" and it should pop up.

I'm not a LEDengin guy...I prefer tri-crees...my pea brain seems to handle three LEDs better than four. But I highly encourage you to check out those videos! They saved me a bunch of time and frustration.

I hit the post button too soon...must be past my bedtime.

Life might be easier if you wire the red and blue in series, in which case the diagram is good to go. There is a good chance you will have a nice mix of purple right off the bat without having to mess with putting a resistor on the red and going into parallel wiring. I can only speak from my experience with tri-crees, however.

ok I been reading and watched the vidoes from madcow and I think I have it right now please take a look.

The new diagram is wired parallel. To resistor the red, you'd need a resistor on either the 3-6 wire or the 2-7 wire.

Don't forget to bridge the top two positive terminalon your power extender, otherwise you will not have working foc.

I have a small 4.7 watt/ 4.7 ohm resistor coming for the white die for the FOC
