Hi guys,
I wanted to know what is the cheapest way to construct a lightsaber with blade and all. I am looking to spend about $60. I wanted to go with an LED blade with green color, about 40' in length. Also, can you tell me after I know what to buy, how to construct it? Thanks.

$60 bucks?

You are in the wrong house.

60$ i really dont think that is going to happen. If this is your first saber you should do the mhs builder. you will get everything you need to make a saber for like 90 dollars. and that price is based on the cheapest items. All those parts are threaded so they are real easy to put together.

I edited it because Nightwing's correct. He said make anyway.

PVC is just about your only route. That could go under that. If you ordered the main stuff from here that'd be (about): $20 for blade parts, $10 for the LED, $10 for heatsink and lenses. With shipping that's $50 right there for just some uber-basic stuff. It'd be a little bit more for switch and battery holder... $60 is a pretty damn small mark to hit.

Ultra can only do that because he sells dozens of them in the course of weeks.

60 is possible, just get the blade parts separate and make it on your own, a sink tube, and the basic electronics package.

ok well maybe its 10 bucks more but its possible

i know but just cough up 20 bucks more and you will have a simple saber. why not go with the mhs builder, and make a saber and pay the money you have to pay.

dude, if you want a saber for 60 dollars then A. it would require a ton of work on your part. B. it wouldn't look all that great because there would be no sinktube overlay or cool mhs parts ect. ect.

Pyle I could build a saber for 60.00 and make it look very cool.

In fact I did

The saber is a 3 watt amber with a 36 inch poylcarbonate blade with corbins blade film, the rest is classified.

Uh, it's a cut sink tube, blade holder and LED electronics, switch, thumb screw and grips.

Is that so hard to figure out from just looking at it? http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/rolleye0001.gif http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/mad0259.gif

Oh, it definitely is, I was just making a point that it's not so hard to figure out what he used to make that saber. He winked like he knows it's not really a "secret formula".

Point is that doing a LED saber with parts bought here (this is a store forum BTW) is going to be a bit more then what you want to pay. There are some fair sites that are not dedicated to a store that can go over how to use duck tape and super glue to make lightsabers. There are also people that have or have access to metal working machines to possibly do things a little cheaper but again you have to factor in the time/labor issue.

I am all for doing low cost sabers being as what I really like is doing them for little ones. I just don't think you could do one to your satisfaction without using PVC and such in the construction.

A low cost saber can be built but you must really think outside the box to do it and build your own parts. That is why I didn't go into detail because the parts you don't see are built by hand, using machines that most people don't have access to.

That reminds me...

Tim, there's no easy way to get back to the store from the forums...
Are you going to change the Logo Link to link to the Store again?
