nikko battery?

hey found this in my basement. was wondering if i can use it to power my cf.. dont want to risk ruining my the card though
it is a nikko 7.2 1500 mah 2 cell nickel cadmium battery.
it is too big to fit in the hilt but cant i open it up seperate the cells and rewire it?

well i took it part and it wasnt as scary as it sounds. inside was 2 sets of 3 batterys set end to end. had some corrusion so i cleaned it off with coke.
what im wondering is if i only use one set of 3 batteries does that half my output? or just half my mah? or maybe both....
so 3.6 and 750 mah....???
if so is that good to power the cf? or should i stack some more of the batterie end to end? maybe do a set of 4?
sense i now that all of them together is 7.2 there is no danger of over powering the cf sense it can handle 7.4.
