I don't know if this thread should be in "new technologies" or here...but sinec this is the palce were all stuff that can't be in a special category is so...
I just wanted to know if someone here had tested Ultras new polycarbonate tip with that semi-reflective film, and what you thought abaout it...

EDIT: if you think this question not belong here or is to "not-TCSS" then tell me and I will delete it....

Actually its Tims part, Ultra buys them here. TCSS carries the same tips.

Actually... the disk is the same. Not sure if he actually buys it here but the tip itself IS NOT THE SAME. Ultra's tip is solid machined PolyC. Tim's is a hollow cast plastic.

Both will break the blade before they come off. Tim's is a bit more versitile I'd say though due to the hollow nature.

hmmm... but ultra's got that semi reflective film... and his tip also seem to have a larger shoulder, shouldn't that mean it's safer?

His mirror is the exact same type of mirror sold here. It's just cut to be under the diameter of the tip, so it lights up the tip but doesn't blind you.

The shoulder was 1/4" but he just remachined them to 1/8" like the rest of the shouldered tips available because 1/4" was too much of a gap and was making it look a bit funky.

Again I wouldn't say one is better or safer than the other. Both will stay on until the blade breaks. Ultra's probably would still be in one piece after the carnage, but really if you break the blade salvaging a tip is the least of your worries.

I actually managed to get a abaout 7 centimeters long crack in my pc tube.
luckily it was on the top do I did just saw it off...
I probably did it by smashing the blade into a tree. There will be pictures at it in my gallery soon...

Why would you want to smash your blade into a tree? http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/confused0044.gif Just because you can?

I wanted to show how durable the blade is...Everyone says it neraly indestuctable, but it isn't 'cause I'm fourteen and can get it crack...

At fourteen I guess the word nearly doesn't have much meaning :P

Anyway, there is nothing wrong with stress tests Jlo, we GOT to see how far we can push it :D

I'd stand by that. Nothing currently will stand up any better if you break PolyC. The type of swings I 've given PolyC would definatly bend and dent a metal equivalent.

mmm...probalby, That should be some kind of massive titan that will not bench even a little... I've got some wooden exercising swords that I use for sparring, when I don't wanät to use my MHS... and they would probably not bench, but then wood is a material that is very good for things like this

EDIT: srry for my grammar...
