BTW sorry I was not sure where to post this..
its been a long time since I have posted here. I have been busy on a new project but I do need a little bit of help. My new project I am wiring in 4 LED's two blinking and two solid (obivously they are just standard radio shack LED's) and I am using 2 AA to power them up with a switch, here is my prob its seems like when I turn the switch off heat starts to build up in the battery box, could that mean I have shorted two wires together?

Heat generally means you have a short double check your wiring.

so using just 2 AA should be fine its just I might have a short correct?

Probably will be fine once the short is located.

Sounds like you have the switch wired up so that when you think it's off, it's acctualt creating a dead short on the batteries, thus starving the LED of power, making it look like you've shut it off.

so what would be the best way to have it wired up then??
I have the pos of each LED wired up together along with the switch and the pos of the Power supply in one bundle the same with the Neg

If you could post a pic it would help to see how it is wired.

Ok I see the problem, remove the ground wire running to the switch, then remove the positive lead from the battery and connect it to the side of the switch you took the ground from and you should be fine.

Woah!

Yeah, you are dead shorting to the switch.

Do-Clo will get ya right. Remember, the switch is just an interrupt to one leg of the power.

That may be, but that's not her normal argument...

I know. I'm trying to be nicer about what I say about how people spell around here.

I can still have fun from time to time, with out being a b!tİh about it.
