Hey guys, welcome to my first post!

I'm currently working on 2 sabres (one for myself and one for my girlfriend), and I was wondering if you guys could recommend or suggest what to use as a sabre plug? I should clarify that I know a clear or cloudy acrylic would be great (or lexan, or Plexiglas, or an acetate, or poly-carbonate, etc etc) but I can't seem to find anything in a retail environment that would fit the bill. So, I turn to you for suggestions. Websites? Suppliers? Ideas? Something you've found in the past that worked well? I should point out that I live in the Montreal area, so I don't have access to the majority of retail stores you may have in America (or the UK, or anywhere else, for that matter...) so any leads would be greatly appreciated. I'm also aiming for inexpensive. I don't want to spend more than $20 (s&H included) if I have to for the 2 plugs. I plan on building them myself, so raw material is always preferred, and I don't mind re-purposing/recycling something to achieve that goal.

Thanks!

I find that pieces of blade material work very well as blade plugs. I usually cut a few inches off my blades to adjust for length, so I always have some odd sized bits lying around.

You can pick up 40" of blade clear thin-walled blade plug material for about $8 + shipping. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/1-Thin-walled-Polycarbonate-40-long-P151.aspx

How did I never see that before? And I just received a shipment from TCSS on Wednesday as well...

Thanks, that's pretty much perfect. Looks like I'll just have to cut down the butt-end of my blades unless I can find something else.

I got a couple of these 1" to 3/4" reducers and glued some electric razor parts that I found at a thrift store to the ends.
