Hey guys and gals. Here is my newest saber build. This is a tribute to Lukes lightsaber(v2) from ROTJ. This is my 1st PC board build and I'm loving it. I did something I haven't seen before on a saber , which is Kill Key storage. It's just a dummy recharge port in the pommel to store the kill key while the saber is active, so the kill key is always with the saber. I want to give a shout out to Tim aka. Strydur for the excellent custom work on the 3" extension part and for the great personal customer service.

Features:
-PC 2.0 with Madcows Hero Font
-7.4 Li-ion 1400mah 18500 pack
-Bass speaker
-Custom graflex style grooves on 3' extension part
-Kill Key storage in the pommel
-Custom Chassis with MHS disc and PVC parts

That is a really nice design! I am very fond of the Graflex style grooves made there.

Also your chassis disk/PVC hybrid design sounds interesting. How did you go about doing that if you don't mind me asking? :)

Thanks. Well the chasis was a trial and error deal. I originally planned for a pvc chassis and when that failed I decided to.use all chassis disc and then that failed, so I ended up using both. I used a piece of 1" pvc in the ribbed section to house the battery and attach the speaker. Then ran threaded rod into it attached the the chassis disc that hold the board. I'll post a pic I have of it before I wired later tonight.

Secondary kill key storage is a great idea, especially if your Jedi costume doesn't have pockets. Looks like a great saber. Congrats on your build!

Very nice! It's a great tribute to the classic Luke saber! Good call with the Graflex grooves too.
Using a dummy port to hold the kill key is a great idea - i'll have to remember that! :)

Simple yet awesome looking design, gotta love those! Those little Graflex grooves really add a nice touch. Any video of it in action?

I'm glad you all like my saber design and kill key storage idea. You guys are awesome! Thanks so much for the positive feedback.
Here is a pic of my chassis before the board was wired. Its simple, but it works.

Thanks and thanks again. I've seen so many excellent sabers on these forums. Your comments make me feel very accomplished and proud of my build. I added a video and some extra pics of the chassis to the 1st post. The chassis was a lot of work after two failed attempts.

Very nice indeed, as everyone said!
Don't say failed attempts, use the word "tests" hehe. You did very well and the end result was worth these attempts ;)

Ditto to all the good comments above, and I second Darth Ryo's comment.
Every 'Non-final' attempt, is just a step in the right direction. I think we all would agree that the learning process is part of the fun.

Way nice saber. I kinda like the reverse grip design same with the Graflex grooves. That's what really draws me to this saber. Its Luke/Graflex based but in your own design. =]

Thanks. Yes that is exactly what I was going for with this design. This is what my saber would look like if I were a real Jedi, training under Master Luke Skywalker.

Added a new VIDEO to the first post. Its short and shows off the Hero Fonts alternate force sound, which is music from Star Wars. Epic!
