At Golden Gate Knights, http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/goldengatejedi/?bookmark_t=group , we're trying to get each person to do a Jedi and a Sith for choreo work. I started mine up a couple of weeks ago. My saber build is here. http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?15529-Curved-hilt-of-Darth-Infirnis&p=222301#post222301 .

This is what I've started with.
http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww349/Jecull/Darth%20Infirnis/DSCN4574_zpsaaea4c08.jpg

The plan is to trim the boots, bracers, and tattered cloak hem in the same color that I'll fill the cracks in the mask with. I thought about copper but wanted a more reddish hue. I tried the first three scales on the boots..
http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww349/Jecull/Darth%20Infirnis/CopperorRusset_zps5d6f5a80.jpg

and decided to go with the Russet Metallic instead.

Stopped at this point last night as I was tired of burning my fingers. I guess it fits the name and character though....

I second that.
I like your idea of having that Russet Metallic outlining for the whole costume. I'll look pretty cool and tie it all together.

Thank you, gentlemen. I've got a plan for the bracers that'll reflect the boots that I'll try out soon...

Time to add greeblies and wire to the breather before it's glued down. Then try out the paint I've got in mind.

Nor can I! ;) I'm hoping the technique I have in mind will work for the materials I used.

Sort of a proof of concept. I'm hoping that the primer will help the russet metallic stick, the brand I'm using really slides around on the raw plastic.

Here we go! The top 3 of these is what I was looking for though I had to try out the bottom 3 with Rub n Buff to know if i wanted that effect or not (not was the answer).

Thank you gentlemen. The idea is a lava flow hence the name and costume concept. Here's where I left it for the night. http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww349/Jecull/Darth%20Infirnis/IMG_20130528_212845_332_zps37218d9d.jpg

I can tell you that I do not want to meet that guy in a dark alley on Coruscant, or in a dark labyrinthine tomb on Korriban. That is seriously some awesome work.

It is having the effect I have foreseen, my apprentice!

Thank you sir. It seems to be working out the way I want for the most part. One of the Sith at GGK had a mild look of disgust on his face when he told me it looks like a burn victim so I'm getting the effect I want.

So, I had to get another bottle of black currant Lambic for the foil but I really like the texture of that foil and didn't get full coverage with the first bit. This image also shows the shade of red better than the last one. A little more work on the greeblie where the wires plug in then I'll do up the other side.

Almost there! I need straps for over and around my head but it does hold with just the warmer/balaclava. Oh...and I packed my brushes so I'm not painting the right side greeblie tonight.

I got to see this mask first hand. It's nice and light and you can see clear as the day in there. I love it Boj!!!!

Well, I moved into a rental house and the next day went to SDCC. I finally have the sewing room mostly together and my work table is a disaster. I've got a big piece (9.1 yds) of great quality black linen so I'm just about ready to roll on the rest of this costume.

So here's what I've been up to the past few months outside of working on my wife's Sith. It doesn't look like much but I needed the belt to get it in my head where I wanted to go with the closure and finishing work on the tunic. It's a rough Photoshop job, I know, but it gets the point across. The trim will be in the Metallic Russet of the mask and boot trim.

http://i734.photobucket.com/albums/ww349/Jecull/Darth%20Infirnis/Infirnis3view_zps96e5ad2f.jpg

I thought that I'd be alright with a roughly traditional look to the belt scheme. I had to live with it for a few weeks to decide on changing it round a bit. I tried a few things under the overlap and ended up with what my wife suggested but I could quite process at the time till today. The original scheme is on the left with the better matched to the costume on the right.

OMG that's such a great look.. Evil/Sith springs to my mind instantly, which is important for fans/kids/strangers to be able to very quickly tell.. (Good guy/bad guy?).. This guy is soooo bad, he's good! No he's great!! (Bah You get it lol)

It's very "in universe" and I totally agree the belt is better in it's new design with the colors reversed. I love the hooded (sleeveless) cloak with this look and I absolutely love how the costume has this... "Flow" so all the pieces fit really well with one another.

I really can't wait to see this completed.. Such a wonderful project.

Nice work man, keep up the good work!Where'd you get the boots? Do you know of any leather arm bands that come in brown or dark-brown?
