Switch box

Anybody have any good ideas for a switch box. I have a couple but I figured I would get some input.
Mine was to take a piece aluminum and cut out the appropriate chunks with aviation sheers. Score it bend the metal into a box, wire in either a push on/off, or a slide on off switch, mount that to the hilt and there it is. Sounds like some work though. Any thoughts as to were some one could get something already built?

You can also buy channel aluminum and cut your own with a hacksaw.

Or you can use a door bell button.

The aluminium channel idea seems to work. I figured I would get some key stock to put on the open ends. Then place the open side of the channel on the hilt. Mounting that to the hilt should not be a big problem.
Although the doorbell may work too. Does anyone have pics of a finished product with a door bell button housing?
If so I'd like to see them. Just to get a visual picture before I continue.

Please keep in mind that I just slapped this together after reading your post. I normally like to use hex head screws to keep with the typical SW thing and I also like to smooth any gaps out. But this hilt is ready to take a Corbin board, Sink tube adapter, and emitter style 2. I was planning on doing a 5w blue or green in this puppy So I wanted LOTS of room for the batteries.
Anyway, that at least gives you an idea. There is some other pics I posted a while back on a PVC hilt that I made for B-Day giveaways.

Edit- I forgot, if you get PVC coupling and mount the switch on that then you get that flashgun clamp thing going on and it looks pretty sweet too. Sorry I don't have anything to show you right now as I don't really take many pics of stuff I do.

No apologies necessary. That looks great, especially for something you just put together. Quick too.
I do like the doorbell idea, but I will go with the switch box made of aluminium track. Little more of a challenge for me, since I am new I'm all for a good challenge.
I found some really small 3 prong switches (slide) and some aluminium key stock for cheap. Lots of it. So I may have quite a few switch boxes. The one thing that concerns me is mounting that to the sink pipe. I wonder (even if tapped) if that metal will hold up. My alternative is to use real tiny screws and some small nuts to make sure the switch box doesn't pop off the hilt.
The last thing I came up with to mount the switch box was 1/4 in. thick zip ties. Or a width of your choosing. The way the aluminium track is, one side is open. After putting the two squares of key stock on each end, dremel out a slot on the side. Make one of the slots a little bigger to get the excess tie through. When you're ready to mount it, slide the box on, wire it up, pull the tie, cut off the excess and done.
In theory any way, I let you know if it works out.

Let us know how it goes. I am not even sure that what your using I have seen unless I call it something else. I look forward to seeing how it turns out.
