So, I thought the RICE port would be a straightforward wiring job. The three pegs on the 3.5 mm port have designated pads on the bottom of the PCv2 (txd, rxd, gnd/-)... but what is this (+) for? I haven't seen any wiring diagrams for the rice port, so I don't want to hook up that positive lead before I get to anything else.

Where is the (+) you are talking about?

Between the (-) and tx pads.

You just use the Tx, Rx and (-). ;)
