Hey there

Ok, I may have this wrong, but I am looking for confirmation:

I found an LED that has a max current of 1500mAH. At that current, the lumens are 1375.

Now, the literature with the LED says the forward voltage is 8.4 @ 350mAH. Straightforward enough, but does it follow that the voltage would stay the same (8.4V) @ 1500mAH?

In my mind, the voltage stays the same, its just the about of current that changes.

Thanks!

There's a curve to the forward voltage values as current increases. It will go up, but I couldn't tell you how much.

8.4v seems really high for a single LED. I'm guessing it's a multi-die LED like the LEDEngins?

Silver Serpent,

You are correct, it is a tri-LED on a 20mm star configuration. I did find a curve equation: lF=ƒ(VF)
Now I just gotta find my Texas Instrument from college days...

Thanks
