Just thought I'd mention this for anyone who doesn't know. Luxeon Star LEDs now has White K2 stars.

I guess that they have been offering them for a week or two now right? I have been getting them from LED supply though.

After having two emitter domes bust though I am staying away from K2s as much as possible. I just get my 3w and 5w LUXs from Tim and use my pucks

"Ships in: 10 days"

Translation: You still wait.

I ordered one of those 2 weeks ago. They charged my immediately, but that clock's still going tick tock, tick tock...

I would love if Tim started selling these... relaible shipping... what a concept...

You are aware, my friend, that anything that gets shipped takes time? Even Tim can take a while to ship if you request modifications or if he's backed up.

They ship in 10 days but add another 2 weeks to receive the parts.

Agree with Do-Clo I do.

I think they are in Canada.(don't have a reciept in front of me) Bottom line is that even when I ordered stuff from them that says 1 day I still would not see the goods for half a month or so. Ever since I found the other place I just order from them. It helps of course that I prefer the wired buckpucks to the standard ones.

I admit I still prefer to get my LEDs from Tim as it is nice to be able to at least ask for a bin color of your choice.

Correct James they are in Canada so shipping takes time. :(

Which ones, Tim? the 350mAh or the 1000? PLEASE let it be to 1000...

Wouldnt be any point in stocking the lower ones. I will get the highest rated and whatever colors I can.

At 1500 mAh, can Corbin's driver power these things?
I know it can run other 5-watt models...

LOL... even the puck drivers don't like this LED... there's nothing that'll go over 1000 mAh.

I will be stocking these soon. Awesome Tim I will be waiting till you get them in then, I suspect that I will be needing one since the Lux3 in my last saber goes out on really hard impacts and I thing remeber seeing a crack in the Led and if I have to replace it anyway why not go brighter. :D

Will the MR boards be able to power these?

Do-Clo

The MR board puts out 900 ma so it will power one of the high current K2's but it will not be at full brightness because the high current K2 is around 1400 ma. I would just use a star III myself with a MR board.

Not to their full potential. If you just wire it in place of a 3W it will be slightly brighter. To get the most out you need to have it running at 1500mA.

To do this like some have, you need to have a relay. A relay is a switch. You wire this to the soundboard output. Then the LED gets power straight from the battery pack, no resistor needed since the 4.5 is got above the max forward voltage.

So when you turn on the sound the relay triggers the K2 to turn on. A little bit more work to get it running at full bore, but nice when done.

EDIT: too slow... nice avatar though.
