Would there be any alignment issues for the switch when drilling a switch hole (be it for guarded or AV etc) in the centre of this piece? http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/MHS-ribbed-extension-v-grooved-P252.aspx
Thanks :)

What do you mean "alignment" issues? I don't recall ever having any such issues.

I believe I seen that done before. I don't think you'll have any problems.

I've got a ribbed section with an AV switch in it, works just fine. The only "alignment" issue I can think of would be it you drilled into the threads which I wouldn't recommend for any piece (not if you ever want to screw it on or off again).

The drill bit *may* try to wander if your hole starts on one of the sloped edges. Go slowly and don't try to use a dull drill bit, and you should be fine.
screw ALL your parts together.. (including the heatsink).. THEN mark where you want to place your switch hole.. (so it aligns up with your other switches, blade retention screw, and other cosmetics)
