Vetrata

This saber has also been in the works for a while. Since TCSS came out with the Satele Shan BH/choke combo, I have been working on something suitable. The color scheme has been the thing holding me up as has the soundboard choice. Well, I am out of CF and I am out of PC, so the choice was made for me, lol. Actually, this one was either going to be PC or CS all along and since I chose the PC for the Clan Bane Chieftain saber (and all it's gaudiness), I decided to take the minimalist/functionalist approach to this one. I am also a big fan of knurling and figured that I could knurl away on this one, so I did. The BH, pommel and grip section are all knurled. I absolutely love how the Bronzium weathering makes the knurled sections look. It just looks so naturally weathered. Because this hilt does indeed have some depth of machining to it and a nice choke point, I felt that it needed to be broken up a bit color-wise. I went with copper accented emitter ring, choke and caudal grip flange to even it out and that made it click for me. This style of two tone weathering is reminiscent of the Gold and Oxidized Bronzium weathering on the K3GR1 Oxidium. What I learned is that I like the bronze and Bronzium every bit as much as I did the gold and Bronzium. I recessed the AV switch in the Obi-Dar style since that seemed to fit this hilt quite well. I also went massive run time on this baby with a 2400 mAh 18650. Finally, I indexed one group of milled slots to the switch (they line up with the switch perfectly). Thanks for looking.

Particulars:
CSv1 with Nightstorm's TOR Justice
Green dot AV switch
Cyan Blade, with Red (Salmon) FoC
3.7V Li-ion (2400 mAh 18650)
Machined Resonance chamber
2W Speaker
2.1mm Recharge/kill in easy-turn pommel
Bronzium Weathering
Weathered copper enamel accents
Triple Baked
Diamond Knurled accents

Thanks guys. I truly appreciate it. I never know when a "subtle" saber will be well received.

Also, that weathering is fantastic. It feels like I just dug it up out of the ground in a truck yard. I can almost feel the grit on my hand.

And I dig "subtle". Subtle is good. Subtle is what being a Jedi is all about, right?

the knurling over the whole hilt is just cool. only the square flattening for the av switch is not exactly my kind of tast.
but everything else is really cool

The knurling and the couple of extra grooves on the blade holder are beautiful and somehow really freakin' tough looking at the same time. I've never really been a fan of that blade holder unless it's on a Satele Shan saber, and even then my feelings are kinda ehh, but wow man you have really changed my mind. I've been writing this comment for almost 30 minutes because I keep going back and staring at the saber. As always your work is amazing.

Rusty and oxydated. Elegant lines as always.
The cyan beam fits perfectly with the copperish emitter

I too love that color combination. Cyan & weathered copper or Emerald Green and shiny copper are the perfect color combination IMO (of course I love green and cyan to begin with, lol)
