I am considering changing all male threads besides the blade holders to .4" in length. Currently all pommels and a few other parts are .4" while others are .5" and I would like to make them all the same so that parts such as chassis disks, speaker mounts, etc can all be used between all parts besides at blade holders. Does anyone see any issues that I may be overlooking in regards to this change?

I don't know how thick the trim rings are. How much contact would you have left if you used one on a part with the sorter male threads?

SOUNDS like a great idea. If everything else will work with it. Less thread means more area to cut and drill!

IMO, the fewer twists, the better. I saw an old thread revived yesterday showing a quick-release system. Did that ever pan out?

I agree with the others, it would be really helpful.
This way we could build chassis locked in the middle of the saber and find a good use for speaker mount V4, that until now can be used almost only in reverse sound setups.

I was kinda like, "Meh..." about the idea, until Crystal Chambers pointed out it gives us more room to drill into. Now, I've gotta give it an enthusiastic two-thumbs up.

would the chassis discs that go between threads need to be thickened?
