Hey its Ewok again, and I was wandering would these 50 watt bulbs be more bright and work for the Led sabers? http://www.lumiabulbs.com/catalog/item/1584074/1032715.htm

I am new to the Led saber system, and I don't have a Led saber. So this could be a really dumb question.

Thanks!

Those almost certainly would never fit andwe coldn't provide them with enough power on batteries.

<center>Read the FAQ (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=552) or x-wing won't be happy. :(
Before posting did you check the Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577)?.

not to mention the heat halogens give off, it would discolor and possibly burn and warp the diffusor and polyc....

The only saber you could make would be a large saber to display in your front yard.

And don't forget that you could NEVER dual with it. The filament in the bulb would break quicker than the MR led strips do. The heat given off would also be an issue like jjshumpert said.

those things are like 4 inches in diameter, they would never fit. not to mention that even if you could put batteries in the hilt for it the juice would last like 2 seconds

dude you would need like 50 fans and like millions of heatsinks to be able to use it, and you need to plug it into an outlet. 20 watt sabers are possible but 50 watt isnt

Hey, you could carry the 86.6 'AA' batteries required to produce 130 volts in some kind of backpack under your cloak. Score!!! [:D]

Just jesting dude. Anyway, it's good to challenge ideas. Keep going and you are bound to come up with a winner.

All cons. aside... That would make a f-ing awesome saber!

Imagine the long tube Halogens (like you find in work lights) going down the length of the blade...

That would be an awesome sight!

I guarantee you'd get a white core, and you'd definitely see it in the day time! lol

Then reality sinks in and ruins all the fun... as the blade melts into a puddle in your living room. You put your head down, unplug your saber and get the fire extinguisher...
