TRAVELLER

Several of my friends have seen Malignant Fury, Flourish and Rob's Corran Horn saber and they all loved these sabers, and we love playing with them. I don't do that much building these days and it is EXTREMELY rare that I do "commission work", but I was approached by one of my friends who wanted me to make a saber for her boyfriend (I know the both of them) for his birthday which is in a few days (from now). Since this is a "low budget" production, this was originally going to get a PC 1.5 that I had laying around, but after issues with a clash sensor, I decided to use one of my CF's on this. Most of the internals were things I had laying around, that I was just "using up" since they were most likely going to lay around for a bit.

It's a MHS build that shows off some of Tim's excellent "custom skillz". I thanked Tim privately, but it's now time to give him his public Kudos for his GREAT work.* I had him do the diamond fluting pattern to give it some "uniqueness", because those of you who know me, know that I love unique hilts. It also has Black Chrome powder coating within the grooves (to give it some definition).

The Specs:

CF 5.08
Soundfonts: Novastar, Episode 2, Darkstar, Episode 4, Ancient Saber and the Yoda vocal version
LEDEngin 5W Blue (No FoC)
7.4 Battery back (2 x 14670)
2W bass speaker
Rechargeable battery pack w/ pommel recharge port

very nice.i didnt know that you could 'strap' the sound board to the battery pack like that without the battery pack doing the board any damage.it solves a space issue i was having with a design i got in mind...love the cross hatched knerling on the hilt its a striking design.Very very nice

Strong work FJK!

I foresee Tim getting more requests soon for that type of knurling... ;)

. . . this is a "low budget" production. . . I decided to use one of my CF's on this.

I'm almost afraid to wonder what you'd put in a "high-budget" saber.

Very nice work, the powder coating in the grooves adds a nice touch.

This is the bee's knees. I really like the PC in the grooves. Gives it a great touch.

It's not a strap. it's a narrow band of heat shrink, and I used some double sided tape underneath to "raise" it up so I could get to the card easily.

Thanks, it was originally going to be a PC 1.5 that I had laying around, but I had an issue with the clash sensor, and I was pressed for time - soooo, instant upgrade. Trust me, this is going for a great price for what I am including (CF, blade, charger).

Yeah, one of the reasons why I am showing it off for him. ;)

Awesome fluting. And I don't think anyone has mentioned it yet, but I love the switch placement you got there

I may get something similar for the Harley Quinn saber I'm working on

Nice. My dream CF saber would have the fonts, Novastar, Bespin II, Episode II, Hero, Heirloom, and Shatterpoint. But that'll never happen. :P I always keep missing any and all CF sales. I should do some saving up if I come up lucky.

You should save up your money. Boards are becoming more and more available, especially since CF 6.0 will be coming along soon.
