I'm building my first PC saber soon, and I already have the PC itself and have been experimenting with it, but I have a few concerns. I'm a regular convention goer and plan to be going as a jedi knight rather often, so I need my saber to be able to last me a full day of use. Granted, it will be off for the vast majority of the time, but I'd be happy if I could get 3 hours out of it. Obviously sound sabers drag down the battery much faster then normal sabers, and I already made a few stunts, but I would love to be able to carry around a sound saber and not worry about it dying all day.

The PC manual says it should run on 2 Li-ion cells, producing 7.4 volts, but what if I were to use the quad Li-ion cell pack, producing the same 7.4v, but twice the MA? http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/74v-Li-ion-1600mAh-14500-Battery-Pack-P725.aspx
I'm assuming that would be completely fine, as the only difference is the MA and space in the hilt, neither of which should affect the sound card, but I figured I'd ask before I blow out a $130 chip. Thanks.

That would work fine.

Tim even sells a quad 14500 battery pack in the store.

That would work, But you would get even more life out of http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/74v-Li-ion-2600mAh-18650-Battery-Pack-P699.aspx . What you want to look at is the mAh rating. The higher that number the longer it will last at the same settings. That being said, there are going to be a lot of factors that determine how long your saber runs, like if you have FOC, what your rate of shimmer is, so on and so on. Best I could say is experiment with the run times and try to design it so you can swap out the battery pack, then carry a spare with you.
