Whats the brightest combo

white luxeon with color film?

http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=365

one in that post

white luxeon with disk?

or just a regular luxeon with a mirrored tip

what is a good combo

cause some pictures are bright on the bottom but is dimmer than a MR at the middle to top

a white led with color disks is dimmer than a single color lux. green luxeons are the brightest

What he said^^^

The colored disks are actually best for the colors that aren't available in the normal colors; like Pink, Purple, Orange, etc...

Unless you get a 5W or K2 (more high powered LEDs) than the filtered ones will be dimmer.

Take them all with a grain of salt. jtsteph made a topic about those (it's indexed) and he used ordainary index tabs you could pick up in the home office section of a store.

The pictures however are "over-exposed". They will not look that fantastic in person (READ: No white core or that bright). In fact my trys with the tabs were less than stellar. The disks sold here are better and leefilters even better than that.

Even with the best filters a colored LED will always be BRIGHTER than the white + filter. If you are concerned about brightness filters are not the way to go.

Evenness is fixed a lot by a mirror in the tip, but the flare at the base will not go away. That's another reason why jtsteph's are a bit misleading. The combo of being over-exposed and slightly off the wall give the illusion the flare isn't there.

There are many topics on these things I mention so check the index and FAQ.[:)]

Totally depends on the color. Comparing accross colors and wattage is difficult. For example a Red K2 wouldn't be all that great. A 3W Red though puts the MR to shame. Any of the 5W and most of the K2's would be brighter but you need to not worry about that. Did you know the 3W Red is double the lumens of the Green, yet the 3W Green will look so much brighter? Brightness is totally misleading.

If you get all stuck in which is brighter than which you'll never decide. Go with the color you like and you'll be satisfied.

Also... can you put more effort into your posts. I'm trying to answer as well as I can, but that second half I have no clue what you are asking about. What video? The first sentence I get what you mean but the grammar is awful.

Not the sleeves. We just request the numeric swatch book. It's maybe 2"x4" and has 800 swatches. That's tons of choices and more than we'd need.

There was a large topic on this... I was pretty sure it was in the blade discussion but it escapes me now.

So then you guys just cut them to chape?

Yup, an exacto knife or scissors does the trick. If you cut well you'd get like 8 from just one of those little sheets.
