My current parts list that I would like to make are as follows:

7" Fluted with guarded style switch hole
LED "Corbin style" Battle blade 1" OD (40 inches)•** Double Wrap
BuckPuck 700mA 4-wire
Rebel Star LED & MHS Heatsink Module•Luxeon Rebel Star (Red-Orange)
Push on/push off switch with black button
MHS speaker and battery holder
Screw on LED blade holder style 23
Covertec Clip
MPS Pommel style 1
MPS Clip
MPS Insert style 2

it would look something like this:

6822

my questions is since I'm using a buckpuck cause I want a red-orange rebel star led does that mean I only have the option to use either a 700mA buckpuck or petit crouton.

if I use a buck puck I won't have any lighting effects will I?

also are there any parts that I might need to finish building the lightsaber.

You're going to need a blade retention screw, and a screw to hold the covertec button. The clip comes with a plastic button, you may want to get one of the machined metal ones. If you don't have access to a drill and tap set, you'll want to get the "Drill and Tap Hole" service for the blade retention screw and the covertec mounting screw.

With the red-orange rebel star, you can use the 700mA buckpuck or the Petit Crouton. You can also use a resistor as well. The value of the resistor will depend on the battery setup you're using. Go to http://led.linear1.org/1led.wiz to calculate resistor values if you don't already know how.

No, the buckpuck will not give you any lighting effects, other than "on" and "off".

Hi!,

There is also one more option that does have the shimmer effect and that's the constant current LED driver (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Constant-current-LED-driver-P609.aspx) that seems to sit between the buckpuck and pc. Might want to look at that too.

With the PC you do not need the buckpuck or the constant current LED driver.

I think he meant in terms of price or complexity, not physical location or wiring. ;)

Aahhh... I was looking at it from a wiring point of view. :p

Oh, something I failed to notice yesterday: You have a guarded style switch hole, but you don't have a guarded switch. One of the switches from this section will fit that hole perfectly. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Guarded-Style-C67.aspx
