Noyl's "Starkiller" promo lightsaber (lots of pics)

Howdy all.
I did do a build log for this, but thought pictures in the Gallery would be good as well.
I built this based on the picutures of the lightsabers that Starkiller used in the promo for Force Unleashed 2.
Its all MHS parts, a Blue Seoul P4 LED, 7.4 lit-ion battery pack (18650, from TCSS) and for sound a Novasound 3.0 dark

I replaced the grip tape with leather...l-e-a-t-h-e-r! :)

man that came out out nice, that short activation section is came out quite clean, what does the rear of the box look like? is it covered by the wrap or just too small to be exposed?

Good show. Creative use of sleeve material for the pommel too. Always amazed at what can be accomplished with MHS parts. My compliments.

Too small to be exposed, infact the way the rail stock fit, I have a nearly perfect seem between the rail stock and the inside of the box. There's a few pics of my start in the build log.

The leather gives the grip a different feel.
But just so you know, there is still grip tape on the hilt ;) just being used underneath the leather LOL :)

leather is great for long-term, but i actually liked the look of the grip tape. to me, it looks more accurate as the sabers in the trailer/posters looked like a grip material versus leather (no sheen to it)

but thats just me being picky. overall i give this MHS adaptation of a very unique saber a score of 11/10! love it, and i might have to make a copy. ;)

Howdy,
I know I'm zombiefiing a dead post, but did want to start a new one to show what upgrade I did on this hilt. So I may be able to get away with it......this time:)
Not to beat a dead horse, but I built this a few months ago. At the time did not have enough for the Extra bad@** sound package. Now I do :) A brand new PC 2.0, with a Blue P4 LED (later to be a 10watt, but that's later)
However I went the extra mile....well for me it was two ;) and decided on a chassis set up and in hilt recharge. Literally IN the hilt :)
As well I put the AUX switch next to the main activation switch in the box. I really did this build with the idea in mind to upgrade later, as it turns out I was able to do my upgrade with out altering the hilt itself.
The chassis slides into an out of the hilt enough to give acess to the SD card, and for a kill plug when its not being used a lot.

Awesome up grades. That chassis looks amazing. The new AUX switch gives a nice balance to the box almost like the arrows on the Luke RotJ. This saber just keeps getting better.

I purchased an acrylic adapter (to chassis disc style 1) and chassis disc style 1. All I really had to do was place the two on the existing chassis. So what you see here was not a ton of work. Took around an hour.
In the pics below I used a 2 extension piece and a double male adapter. Pretty much replaced the entire lower half of the hilt. Well worth the work if you ask me :)
That is what I have for now, until I am able to get the final parts :)

As I sat here looking at my next build... er your wonderful saber :) I think you did it a injustice by switching the grip to leather, it looked more rugged and mean with the grip tape (IMO), which is the way I will go on mine. What tape was that? great build though!!!!

Its cloth grip tape, like you find on a hockey stick. I've been using on my epee, and bokken for around 20 years now :)
.....was never one for hockey LOL :)
