K, I just got my parts in today from the store (wow! that priority shipping is ALOT faster than I expected.)

here is (roughly) the circuit diagram I've drawn up in my little newb head...

am I missing anything? I"m using the modular wiring system with the 1000ma puck and the rebel star pre-assembled kit in royal blue from the store. the board is a mace windu I picked up from walmart and managed to solder the switch wires in the right places. I guess my real question is...if I splice into the battery lines and the switch lines to add in the sound card...am I going to 'splode my electronics?

That doesn't look right at all to me. If you wire things that way your switch won't do anything for you. The sound and led will always be on, because you are effectively bypassing the switch.

Also I don't think you should be going from the sound board back into the LED path. You are using your batteries/buckpuck to drive your LED, why wire the sound back into the path?

I have never wired any board other than a PC so don't know how to wire your Mace Windu board, but I don't think your diagram will work.

What kind of battery pack/batteries are you using?

your absolutely right...I think I may be a moron. lets see if I cant fix that...

ah, part of my problem was that I forgot to change the color of the board's switch wires.

does this look better? or should I go back and re-read my basic electronics again?

You're going to want to look up the 2010 Hasblo soundboard diagram thread and go from there. You are trying to put the soundboard into a simple stunt circuit, it won't work that way.

The 2010 board requires you to use a transistor to pull power direct from the batteries. In your case, you can use it to power the puck and the board/transistor would essentially just be the switch.

Thanks fender and zzan! Hate that answer, was hoping to do it the lazy way. Oh well....c'est la vie eh? time to go read that thread again...from the top!

just thought I'd give a little update. Used the wiring schematics from the big hasbro threat. Had it working great for about a minute. Then I started to move the whole thing from where it was to a different place...and it all came to pieces. Gonna pick up a new '10 cause I managed to blow something when I was re-soldering wires to the board. NOT gonna get a windu, thats for sure. Also, anyone have any experience with the guarded MWS switches? just wondering if it was normal for the switch to make a clicking noise when its engaged :)
