Im shure someone with much more knowledge than I will call me stupid for asking this, but wouldnt it be possible to reuse the stock blade on my anakin for the time being... i know its thin, flimsy and just all around crap, but since all the parts come out leaving just the blade and diffusor, shouldnt it be useable in a led removable blade setup

Like the other conversions if you add a layer of tape or something you can reuse the MR blade. I keep mine around, if you do a bit of mods like a mirror and reflective strip at the base it looks quite good. Really bad for dueling though.

Yes you can still use the Stock MR blade.

I still use the Stock blade for my Vader conversion until I get a new tip for my TCSS blade.

Have you read your Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577) today?

ok theres another part of the blade design im not following, how is it you put in the reflective strip in the base of the blade? not shure of exactly how that works...

Just a 3" or so strip. Roll it up and slide it in the bottom of the blade outside of the diffuser.

You don't need it, it's not nearly as drastic as putting the mirror in the tip, but I personally do it on all of my blades now.

The purpose of the reflective strip is to try and bounce more of the light up the tube. Since any light escaping the polycarb that is stuck down in the blade holder is just wasted (well if you don't have any decorative openings in the blade holder like the #4 and #6 emitters), the reflective stip conserves some of that light and sends it up the tube. Like has been said it isn't a dramatic change, but the more efficiently use the light the better.

i get you... do you have a preference of a royal blue led, that is compatible with the stock mr baring adding a dedicated driver for the led and which offers the best color/brightness
