MY father just bought this on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Star-Wars-Graflex-Luke-Skywalker-ESB-Luxeon-Lightsaber_W0QQitemZ200021700579QQihZ010QQcategory Z99971QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Someone told me the diffuser he used isn't good for Luxeon. What's a diffuser anyway? And is this such a big deal?

The diffuser is just a roll of film, plastic, or whatever placed inside the blade to help reflect light up the blade and to make the glow more even throughout the length of the blade. There are several kinds to try, here's a link to a discussion about this. http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=689
The only thing I've seen about polyethylene is that Tim tried it and said it dimmed the light a bit much. It really depends on exactly what kind of film was used, but with a little bit of work you could easily change it if you don't like the one that's in there now.
Hope this helps[8D]

a diffuser spreads out the light in the blade. if you didn't have a diffuser your blade would be super bright at the base and dark at the tip

This isn't going to turn in to another bash photon/ionsabers topic is it?

This is the same stuff that is used for Tim's EL blades. It work's just fine.

you can use tims kit for the graflexs, corbin's switch, and then it is just a matter of putting in the battery and sound board. for that you can look in the gallery cause there are pics of how people did theirs

As usual there is a large amount of pyle shooting his mouth when there is no ammo in the brain. Ignorance is bliss and LM is smiling everyday.

The Luke ESB can be converted to Lux but Tim would have to make you a custom blade holder. <font color="red">The Graflex will not work</font id="red"> there is some information in a Luke ESB thread if you want to sift through it but at this point I must give all a STRONG warning. The question in this topic has been asked and answered, Luke ESB topics DO NOT fair well 'round here. For some mystical unknown reason they start to harbor bad questions which leads to a de-railment the likes of which y'all newer guys on here aint seen. Take it for what it is worth, I have said what needs to be said, just tread lightly and think before you type. I am sure a good Luke topic could be done but we ain't had no luck thus far.

<font color="limegreen">Drewbacca I for one would love to see a successful TCSS ESB conversion done if there is anything I can do to help feel free to PM or E-mail me.</font id="limegreen">

then why are there people who sell them on ebay?(TNWM bought one, the link is at the top of the screen.
drewbacca, do you have a MR luke esb or a graflex esb? that is the first question that needs answering.

If you read the auction and his post it's a GRAFLEX. So yes, the graflex holder here should work. If it was an MR Luke ESB he'd be out of luck if he wanted to use it.

Drewbacca however missed that fact and he has an MR (He's stated this in other topics). So for him he's stuck.

<center>Read the FAQ (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=552) or x-wing won't be happy. :(
Before posting did you check the Thread Index (http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/sabers/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=577)?.

Wait a second. JSS is converting my Luke to Luxeon. Are you saying it's not safe to duel with? He seems like a professional in the matter.

Thanks for your help.

Actually it should be good because he lathes out his own parts(blade holder/emitter).

Edit: If I'm not mistaken, (correct me if im wrong guys)the main thing is that the ID of the luke is different from the graflex and the Ani, and no one has mass produced the Luke version because there isnt as big of a demand for them due to the number of them compared to, say, the Anakin or the Vader.

i would think that the ID is the same for all of the MRs but for sure it is bigger than a graflex.

Really, so in your infinite knowledge you are telling me that my maul is the same ID as all the other MR? I mean you did say <u>ALL</u> MR.....shut your mouth until you do research....

If they were all the same inner diameter we could use 1 conversion kit for all. Each Mr is differnt in diameter. I own all Mr sabers to date as well as Graflex tubes being the smallest.

i have to agree on that one, because ive had the maul and its sooo much smaller than the vader, luke, anakin, or mace. and plus the sizes all vary. so like ambo said do some research before posting something like this. im not trying to be a jerk but you need to learn to not post stuff you dont know about

I have done alot FX conversions, on all the different FX sabers. Including the Luke ESB and Anakin AOTC hilts that arent done by many people. And all say this, they are all different, every single one of them. I know Tim and Ultra have done the Luke ESB conversion, as have I. And it can be done so it has a removable blade and be sturdy. If anybody wants to see how I do it, ill be happy to post some picks.
