Durability Test #2

So after my first durabilty test, I decided that there needed to be a PolyC vs. PolyC durability showdown.

Having gotten the plague (I was sick as hell anyway), I had a friend of mine take my MHS and his MHS over to his brothers house and duel.

If you remember from my first test, the PolyC utterly destroyed the MR, and only the top came off. Well I went and got some hellish super glue, and now use that for new tips.

Anyway, the following link leads you to the outcome of what happened between two of Tim's PolyC blades in an all out "I am going to kill you with a plastic tube" fight.

Both of our hilts were undamaged of course. However, my blade broke off down inside the emitter and at the tip. His blade just broke and snapped off at the end. The test ended with a running happy gilmore style swing.

My closing thoughts? These blades are kick ass for dueling, and kick ass for show. If you are a frequent hard dueler, my suggestion is to get one solely for dueling, and one solely for show. That way you can beat the crap out of the one and not care if it gets scratches. Also, if it gets broken, saw it down and keep using it! Then if you're going into public and want to show off your bad ass saber, slide in the show blade and off you go!!

I actually took a pice of rebar and tapted up a handel on the one end and used that for weight saber training.

I miss that pice of rebar...had to get rid of it cause the bends were throwing off my balance and I was just getting used to its weight.

Ahh the days of breaking knuckles when weapon training.

BTW: good lord what did you guys do to that thing?

That was mine. They had to have been going at it crazy for a while. I eventually did break that blade though. I was trying to get the tip to come off. Had to make the blade shatter at the tip though.
