Ok. So I'm curious as to how best to handle this. I have the saber designed out in the builder along with the powder coating I want.

6507

Using the builder I get the following Parts list:
Parts used in this build:
* 7 inch Fluted with guarded style switch hole w/Wet Black pc
* MPS Pommel style 8 w/Wet Black pc
* Screw on LED blade holder style 10
* MHS choke style 1 short w/undefined pc

And here's my wishlist: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/ViewWishlist.aspx?WishlistId=12764

Any suggestions? Does it look like I have everything?

Thanks.

Checking out your wishlist, it looks like you have most everything you need, except for your LED module.

Try one of these two:
http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Rebel-Star-LED-MHS-Heatsink-Module-P653.aspx
http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Seoul-P4-LED-MHS-Heatsink-Module-P654.aspx

If you go with the Rebel in red or amber, you'll want to be sure you get the MWS with the 700 mA buckpuck. All others should be fine with the 1000 mA buckpuck.

I don't see anything missing. I did notice that you have Black Chrome PC for the pommel, and the Tuscan Flat Black for the body and choke. I don't know if you wanted them all the same or not, just bringing it to your attention. If that's the way you want it, then you appear to be good to order.

Yeah that was an oversight Silver. Thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't necessarily settled on a color or tone, just wanted to get that in the list for price and so that it matched with the picture.

I've been doing some reading and I've found some basic instructions on pulling different sound cards from different MR and Hasbro sabers. I have just a cheapy Hasbro vader sword that I actually like the sound effects on and may decide to add this to the saber config above. One thing I've noticed though is that it looks like most of the wiring diagrams require a momentary switch (think that's what mom stands for). But when you look at the mom switches in the store it makes it sound like those switches won't fit in just the standard/guarded hole on the main body portion of the saber. Am I reading this correctly? If that's the case am I looking at needing an activation box of some kind?

Thanks.

There are momentary switches in the store that will fit standard holes and ones that will fit guarded holes.

You could also place a mounting box over where the standard/guarded hole is and mount whatever switch you need.

Which ones, I thought they all said they'd need a box. I'll have to take a second look at it. I really don't want to put a box in if I can help it with the way this hilt is layed out.

Thanks for the heads up.

For standard holes: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Standard-Style-C62.aspx
For guarded holes: http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/Guarded-Style-C63.aspx

If you want to use the illuminated AV switches, you'll need either a box, AV bezel, or the AV hole drilling service. It comes in two varieties, regular and recessed. You can ask the shop to put the hole right where the existing switch hole is located.
