Rebel vs Seol... Which is brighter? I want a blue blade, and I don't want to use a filtered blade. I found this http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?2025-Step-2-I-have-decided-to-make-a-LED-saber but it still doesn't really tell me.

This comes down to one thing: Personal preference.

Properly driven, a P4 blue is EXTREMELY bright based on my experience. They can be overdriven up to 1.5amps (I have done this many times). I can't talk much about the Luxeon Rebels since I have never used them.

For the money, it is EXTREMELY hard to beat a P4 blue. They just rock.

To echo above..

I have found the P4s to have much more brightness and color saturation than the rebels. They rock.

I've used both and I really like the P4's. However since they only come from TCSS in red, blue, green, and white, if I wanted to do a Cyan or a Amber I have to use the Luxeon's.

Lux rebel is also available in royal blue and deep red which p4 is not afaik...but in colours where both LEDs are available I prefer the P4...YMMV
