Sith Redemption Redux

Okay, I realize that the over-under for comments on this saber is like 0.1138, but it has meaning to me and someone wanted it enough to run me down, so it deserves posting. Some may remember (and by some I mean nobody) that this was the second saber I ever built. If you search really hard, you will find it here at TCSS and nowhere else, lol. Sinktube, resin MPP parts, aluminum channel, 616 parts, BIN 1 Cyan Lux III...stunt. Anyways, a nice lady found old pictures of her and contacted me. She said she connected with the design and wanted a basic sound upgrade. I was very flattered, and since I thought that this saber would just sit in a box for all eternity I accepted the challenge. First thing to do was to improve the Dremel-fu of the claws. Now they are perfectly symmetrical and smooth (no burrs anymore, lol). Next, the box and switch had to go. It looked like 100' of bad road. I made the same thing, but this time with a mill rather than a hacksaw. Also changed to a low profile black push button switch. I actually used the existing pommel since when I built it originally I used a nice chunk of PVC that I was able to chuck up and machine into a great speaker mount. Topped it off with an MR Jedi board, faux leather wrap grip and D-ring. Simple, solid, basic Fx saber. Oh yeah, I included the original blade plug I made from a cyan crystal (my first ever blade plug). What year was it? 2006.

Particulars:
OG Sith Redemption hilt "refined"
MR Jedi Board
4aaa battery pack on custom mount
Regal speaker
BIN1 Cyan Lux III
Crystal blade plug
Faux leather wrap grip

Love the switch and the double shroud. It kinda reminds me of a retro throwback. It's nice to see the kind of classic, hardware/sinktube sabers every once in a while. The lady who asked for this has some good ideas.

Thanks man, yeah I seriously had a couple of hours of "fun" working on her. It is satisfying to see a somewhat "limited" design achieve it's full potential. At least I feel that it is "finished" now.

That's pretty cool, I got a shoe box at my parent's house full of old big yellow box/hardware hilts from a long, long time ago. I still have the resin MPP shroud that was sold in the store here years ago.

I dig it, and would love to see more people upgrade/rework old sabers.

Tru bro. You ought to rework one or two BYB sabers ;)

@Vlad, thanks man I agree it does have that vintage feel to it.
