I'm planning on using a 2.7 ohm resistor running at 1.5 amps in my FOC drive circuit, so the power calculations say I need a 7 Watt resistor, but I've read in the PC manual and in these forums that I can get by with a lower power rating due to the short duty-cycle of the flash on clash function. Just how low can I go with the power level? Erv's example says less than a watt but I've also read that I can go as low as 25% of the full rating. Obviously I'd like to keep resistor size as small as possible (but still safe) so I'd appreciate insight from those of you who have already figured this out. Thanks.

25 or 30% sounds right.

Thanks Sunrider, I'm starting to feel like I have a private tutor in you - and I couldn't ask for better.
