Hi everyone, I'm new here and I was refered to this as a good forum to ask some lightsaber related costuming questions. So, I registered and looked around a bit to see where my question would fit. this board seemed like the best option, so I'll just re-post my original question here.
I was just wondering if anyone out there who does jedi/sith costuming had taken apart the new Ultimate FX sabers and could tell me how easy or even possible it would be to take the electronics and blade out and put them into a new hilt. If anyone has tried this or has seen it done, I would appreciate advice, explanations, or tutorials, especially ones with pictures. Thanks :)

actually BH quite a few people have used the new Ultimate Fx. board in custom sabers. good threads to read on them are: http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?13266-New-Ultimate-FX-vs-standard-Hasbro-sound-comparison... , http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?13806-Sound-problem-on-2011-Ultimate-FX-sound-card (wiring diagram on page 4 that might work) and http://forums.thecustomsabershop.com/showthread.php?13619-The-Forge.

I made a new hilt for mine a few days ago and i love it. I didn't even know anyone had tryed using the UFX boards befor so I just did it on my own hehe. I used the original led setup in the blade rather than a luxion. Check it out here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gkjkxz8UpHA

Thanks guys. Darth Mobius, any chance I could get the rundown of how you are doing the double bladed one? I guess I should have made this a bit more clear, but I'm totally new to this. No electronics knowledge whatsoever. My main concerns are:
Wiring the new switch
Wiring the new battery pack
The possibility of having one switch and one battery pack run both blades

Any chance I could get a response to this? I do have a very basic understanding of electronics now that I did not have before. I don't want to sound lazy, and I'm not trying to get everything spoon fed, but Ireally don't know where to start. I've tried to do research, but all of the saber guides I've found assume a level of pre-existing knowledge that I dont have. Would someone at least point me in the direction of the right background material ro know before I try something like this? The main things I'd like to figure out are the possibility of running the double bladed saber on one battery pack and how I would figure out the right battery pack, resistors, and wiring setup to use if I can do so. Any help that anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated. I hope this doesn't come off as whiny, I'm just having trouble finding the right information and I know that Star Wars fans are always good about helping each other. Thanks in advance for whatever advice you can offer. :)
