When reading the manuals for the PC and CF I noticed the important note about using Electrostatic Discharge safe tools. I'm making sure that my soldering iron is. Now the packaging my iron came in does not say ESD free on it but maybe there is something that makes it ok to use. Here are the specs:

30 Watt, 120 Volt
Two-Prong Polarized
Nickel-Plated Copper Tip.

Thanks for your help everybody!

Is it a station or is it just the 'wand' that plugs into the wall?

It's the wand that plugs into the wall.

To wire a PC I would highly recommend you invest in a soldering station. It will be ESD free and far easier to solder with as it should be temperature controlled.

Congrats on the F5-Fu, managed to score some for myself too.

Look at the Weller and Hakko brands, they make top quality stations.

EDIT: Oh good news. Turns out we have some ESD safe soldering irons here at my school. Problem solved!!
