View Full Version : Possible battery heating issue

I've recently come up with a saber design that uses 2 18650 Li-ion cells as power solution. In order to fit inside the hilt, one of these cells will have to sit very close to the main LED heatsink. Is this generally not advisable? Any ideas on how I can isolate them effectively?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Unless it is in direct contact with the heatsink and you're running a 10W at full powah, it shouldn't be an issue. Other than that make sure your battery tabs are insulated/isolated and you should be fine.

Agreed with Fender. Make sure those ends/tabs are insulated!

I'll make sure they are well insulated. Thanks!
