Marigold for Mrs. Xxxxxxx1985
A buddy of mine wanted my to build a saber that his wife designed for herself! How cool is that? So he sent me the MHS parts list and some basic instructions and "Marigold" was born. She likes that QV saber's shroud so she wanted that (in gold/bright brass) and she wanted the rest of the hilt to be polished aluminum. That's it for the color scheme. I took some license with the shroud because I didn't want it to be a replica. I made the cut outs into chevrons reminiscent of Auretus' shrouds. I machined the QV-style grooves in the body of the hilt and did a very customized pommel. At this point the design lacked something so I added a couple of trim rings and it popped for me. Sek also is a HUGE dueler so this had to have a durable PVC chassis, which I machined to lock into place between the body and grip of the hilt. SD access is simple, remove the grip...pop the speaker out and bam! I also went with somewhat of a novel box configuration in that the nickel AV switch is the Aux and the spot that normally houses the Aux is a latching on/off switch. Again, a dueling mod for Sek. Top it off with a nice yellow blade (duh, the saber's name is Marigold after all) and "Revenge" by Madcow and call her DUN.

Particulars:
PC v1.5 w/Madcow's Revenge Font
Color mixed 3W Yellow
3.7V 1800mAh Li-ion
Quad-baked gold shroud (shown with brass forceps for color comparison)
Custom machined MHS hilt
Megabass 2W speaker
Custom machined PVC chassis

Very nice saber bro, like the blade color alot, the shroud looks awesome and the PVC chassis is a win. I also like the switch setup as it makes sense cause you use the aux more than the act. button.

Might have to build the Mrs. one myself soon.

The Mrs. is speechless and she can't wait to get it. That chassis is one of the best I've seen you done for me! THe gold sleeve is just too cool!
