Reavanous was inspired by some Darth Revan sabers I made in the past.. This one has some major differences though. It has a choke just above the pommel and 2 brass parts. This saber actually has a total of 8 parts. I am using a petite crouton and an Endor Cyan LED powered by 2 14500 Li-Ions and 2 purple ring AV switches. The AV switches were resistored for 12 volts and were very dim using the accent pads on the PC. To make them brighter I used 2 power xtenders and hot glued them together back to back to take up less room. I didn't want to risk trying to remove the resistor in the switch and I didn't have any NPN transistors at the time, so I had to use power xtenders. I still have to weather it and then it will be done.

EDIT: The render was made by Mihunai and he did an awesome job of giving it some of the Revan features but yet making it a completely different saber. Many thanks go to him for his hard work on making this and several other renders for me.

Nice! I was just thinking some weathering would really bring out the detail. Brass and pommel choke for the win. It would be nice if it had dark grip areas of some type to break it up like on the Luke ROTJ. PC or even a grip wrap. I REALLY like the emitter.

That's a nice looking hilt. I like the custom lathe work. One issue though, but not with the hilt. Your backdrop is very dark and the hilt just blends into background. I would suggest using a higher contrast setting to make the hilt stand out in the picture.

No.

He needs to adjust his lighting. More light on the subject, less on the background. Moving the background further away also helps.

Relatively high aperture (~f11) and low ISO (~200-400) will also help darken the background.

Minor tweak in any photography software will give you a perfect black background with a well lighted subject. Contrast should BARELY be touched (it is a chrome/shiny object after all).

@Rhyan, i like it bud, keep it up:)

You have greatly improved an already great design. Many, many kudos to you my friend. You are truly a master of your craft. Love the emitter, love the pommel, and everything in between.

No, I meant his backdrop cloth should be brighter (light grey/white instead of navy/black) so there would be more ambient light to make the hilt tend to not blend in. Although, you're right about the lighting. He needs more than one light source (3-point is best) to get a good result.

Here are some pics and a video of the saber weathered. I still have to adjust the swing settings.
