Howdy. I just finished my own MHS hilt. I'm using a P4 Blue, an FX Vader sound board, and a rechargable Nimh battery pack.

It looks like a flamethrower that got hit by a flamethrower. I like it. The shroud looks really cool.

Well done! (Vader voce) "Darth Luke Starkiller" is now complete! Very cool design...are you planning on weathering the knobs, R Port, switch housing, and pommel insert?

Thanks all of you. I do plan on some more weathering. The pommel insert mainly, but the nobs I'm not sure about. As far as I know its done, well except for some of the little stuff.

Looks great, and short , which i am a huge fan of. As for being done...they are never done when they are for yourself.

Howdy,
I thought it would be good to update my pics on this build. The reason? I ended up having trouble with some threads "locking up". It happens, but usually when it does that spells the end for the threaded pieces that are being used. Wich in this case called for a bit of a re-design of the hilt. I like it. I wanted some input from you though.

the hilt is about the same length, grips are obviously smaller now.

this is the section that was changed. What your are seeing is the cut down pieces of the MHS section that failed me for the last time. the grip edges were laid on either end of the cut sections, and a tube was inserted in the middle to give it that "raised" effect. This was an idea that was kind of being discussed with some one on these forums, although he did much better than I.

the one thing I didn't want changed was the shroud. So I got away with not having to do extra cuts to shorten it

I did order a new pommel, plus a sink tube>MHS adapter, using some left over sleeve material rebuilt the end of the saber. The holes that you see on the end near the screw are extra vents for sound. Its really loud now
Well there it is, I hope you've enjoyed.

Nice saber and re-do. I do like the new pommel. I woulda gone deep red though since you used a Vader FX board. Thats just me though.
