Well I've never posted in the build thread, since I'm doing my own saber I thought it would be cool to document it. So....

I started with a sketch...looks familiar...hmm.

Then I ended up here, the inspiration was actually my first saber, an EL hilt with sink tube.

First I cut out my shroud, much the same shape as my first saber.
Then the grips.

All of my parts waiting on paint, and electronics.

Soon I'll have a new saber and more pics.

Nice! I like your design even better than the real Starkiller design out there. Can't wait to see it finished.

Nice design. What colors, if any, are you putting on and what's the blade color going to be? Inquiring minds want to know! ;)

Thanks guys. I'm using a Vader FX sound board, a blue P4 (my favorite), and I made the battery pack flat so my cram fu stays solid :). There is a recharge port in the top, next to the switch. It may be done tonite :). Not sure.

So good to see someone sketch out an idea on paper, then seeing the real thing. Must be so rewarding to have a thought become solid and touchable. Congrats on, what I think, looks like a really nicely original saber. Love the shroud work!

Here's part of the hilt. all the light and sound installed.

The grips before they go on. I'm useing very tiny nylon washers to raise the grip away from the main MHS body.
I had some wiring issues, mainly the battery pack I made was "bending", so I took a break. When I came back I finished.

I'll post the rest of the pics in the gallery. I hope you guys enjoyed watching this as much as I did doing it :).

I saw this on the fx forums, and let me say i love this saber. the grips especially. i'm hopefully starting a saber build soon and i'm planning on using grips that look like those. amazing work.
