So my first MHS saber is complete and working. After a few speed bumps shes ready to duel. Thank you TCSS for the awesome parts and TCSS community for all your help. These sabers are like crack, i just got done with this one and my mind is buzzing with ideas for the next.

Nice work.

It's got a symmetry to it with the 2 chokes and the blade holder and complimentary pommel.

Well thought out and designed, extremely clean lines.

Ah, I remember this one in the design stages! Well done!

Thank you very much! Saber building isn't easy. But is extremely rewarding. The best part about the symetry of the chokes is that the blade can perform with multiple fighting styles. Its small enough for one handed, but large enough to fit two hands on. It is also easily held inverted as well.

I really like all the complicated shrouds everyone puts on their hilts and was going to try to put on on here. I decided against it though due to lack of metal cutting tools and because the clean sleek look just seemed to fit for it. And also with the switch in the hilt you can hold it anywhere with no problems.

Thanks for all the help, input, and comments.

Very cool use of the double chokes! I'm a big fan of "clean" sabers, & this an excellent example of a clean saber. The symmetry on this build looks great! Good work!

Invest in a nice little rotary tool and make yourself a shroud... Shrouds make nice sabers into great sabers... Just my opinion of course... And with a small blade-lock screw, the shroud can be removed at will for dueling and stunting... :D

captain mills, thats a good idea for the rotary tool. I'll have to look into that. Like a dremel correct? I was thinking keep it simple for my first build then my second one get a littl emore complext and try a shroud.

Why? This is a nice design, try and build on it to make it more than it is. Instead of spending money on parts, see about getting a PC, two Li-ion and a small momentary for effects, and a speaker. You should be able to get those on the hilt at a squeeze.

Nice! It has a smooth look to it. I love the incorporation of the two chokes.

Great start! This saber does indeed have a versatile contour. I would upgrade and personalize it myself.

I totally agree with Invisas1979 re: continuing to upgrade your saber rather than building another. I like the idea of eventually owning just one saber that has gone through a lot with you. And with the MH System you can even swap out whole sections but keep your 'original' ready to reassemble, or collect just different LEDs and blade holders.

These are all wonderful ideas. And I jus picked up a dremel and large kit wit all sorts of attachments to play with. I also got some 8-32 hardware for whatever i see fit and a 4 inch sink pipe that slides ever so snuggly over the MHS parts :). Im going to the drawing board for a shroud design but I want to incorporate the same curves as the double choke into the shroud. And I believe the shroud will be black.... maybe....

Oh and here were a few more pics I found

Im having a hard time splitting my free time between my costume armor designing and saber building. Sometimes its just rough being a star wars fan huh.

Because this is a small saber I would do a grip style shroud for contrast and then look at weathering for detail. You could crown both the emmiter and pommel with a little extra sink tube.

I know this may sound obvious but use graph paper when drawing up the shroud design, remembering to measure the OD of the sink tube as opposed to the MHS extension.

Maybe buy some more sink tube and practice some etching/engraving with your dremel.

There are lots of possibilities for customisation

My OCD loves the symmetry. My ADD wants to see a shroud on the main body.

I can only imagine how fun this would be to spin.
