I may get a lightsaber for my bro on his next birthday and I was wondering what you guys think is a good blade length for him, his hieght is 5'6" if that helps. Let me know if you need any more info and please don't be flaming me on this one, it's just a quick question for my little brother.

Blade length is really a matter of personal preference. There have been a few bits and bobs around the forum that suggest somewhere between 30 and 40 inches is the neighborhood that your are likely looking for, but I think if you are in that neighborhood a more important issue is balancing the blade to the hilt for wieght otherwise it is rather cumbersome to try and wield such a contraption. It is naturally easier to make a LED saber brighter and more evenly lit when it is shorter rather than longer, however, many people have done some rather good sabers in the 40" range. Peek around the galleries and pictures and even check the search function for blade length discussion if you need anything further.

Thanks for the info but I can't really ask him what length he wants otherwise it isn't much of a surprise to see a lightsaber as a gift on his birthday I was just wondering your opinion on what you think works, I know it isn't a perfect plan but just give an opinion.

I think a 32-36 inch blade would work for him.

Well, since it has forum code try looking into other forums then you can copy and paste the text that represents it. But if not, try right-clicking one of their gif images and view it's properties, it will tell you where it's from.
