"Demon's run when a good man goes to war (Dr Who)"
This is my latest light saber hilt build and to date it is my most complex and elegant design. I've built several PVC hilts and thought it was time to step up. Thanks to my good friend Alex Gregory for being there to let me use his tools and lend a helping hand on the more delicate cuts
For this hilt I used a 12 inch long 1.1/5 inch metal sink tube for the outer piece and cut some simple designs using a dremal tool

For the inner peice I used a 12 inch long 1.1/4 metal sink tube and I cut about 1/5 inch off the top (non threaded side). Could be more or less I kind of eye balled it.

Next I cut out a brace using some PVC I had laying around I'm pretty sure it was thin walled 1.1/5 and I cut it to fit around the inside of the outer piece.

As you can see in this photo after some dry fitting I super glued it inside the outer piece.

This is the same PVC brace on the inner piece, which it was also super glued to

And then for the gripping I used a small section of a very large rubber mat I literally found in the parking lot as I was leaving work one afternoon.

I then cut that to fit around the inner piece and super glued it into place.

And after letting that dry it was ready to put together.

for the pommel I cut the end out of a 3/4 PVC cap and placed it inside the threaded ring that came with the 1.1/5 pipe. The opening in the 1.1/5 threaded ring is narrow enough that it holds the inner tube very tight.

Now! The inner piece which as said earlier is a 1.1/4 sink tube and I'm using a 1 inch blade and it fits VERY loosely so to take care of that matter I cut off about 4 inches of 3/4 grey PVC pipe and using a table grinder I ground off enough of the outer diameter that it would fit snugly inside the 1.1/4 tube.

Now all there is to do is add some accents and use an epoxy to set my blade holder add my set screw. Hopefully next week my saber electronics kit with the Seoul P4 green will be here and I can get it all wired up and post more pics for you guys. Sorry if it was TOO detailed but I made it that way for newbies like myself who are trying to learn. lol
