View Full Version : Chaos prongs...

How strong would you say the rapid steel stuff you bought is? Like could it take a misdirected hit meant for the blade (in hard dueling)?

I'm asking because I might look into this being done if it can hold up. I've always thought prongs would be awesome, but attaching them short of welding always got me.

The prongs look great![:D]

they are indeed......and I usually don't like prongs!
Nice saber.

Reality often interferes with what would otherwise be an idyllic delusion.

Dont let me get anywhere near it, or ill get my drool all over it. [:p] [:D]
That is a very nice saber, and you did an awesome job making it all "fit" together to make the prongs look like they belong. [^] [:D]

Very nice saber indeed! You might wanna patent that prong application; I've a feeling you're gonna have a lot of folks pm-ing you on that, m'friend.

Again, nice job!

You don't need to see any identification.

Hey guys, thanks for the comments.

x-wing, I’m not really sure how strong the bond is, it does say it’s super strong on the packet but don’t they always say that!

Without hitting it of a wall, which I’m not going to do, I couldn’t really tell you. But it does seem to be pretty securely attached. Time will tell!

Madcow, next time your in England might be a problem as I don’t live in England, I live in Scotland! Sorry but I had to correct that. Don’t take this the wrong way, but most Scottish people would take offence to a comment like that, (think Braveheart) but it’s not really your fault my profile does say I live in United Kingdom and not Scotland. Again don’t take this the wrong way, but most American’s/Canadians when referring to the UK say England.

But it’s all good! If your ever in Scotland your on, your on like donkey kong!

Question, Why two Luxeons and how are the Luxeons positioned and attached??
Thanks,

Considering the way all of the MHS parts are made to work he probably mounted the second one with an extra heatsink (quick change kit?) between the main and extension piece. They all have that built in gap for the heatsink so that's logical.

Sorry Chaos,
My mistake. It was probably the Irish in me trying to get you going... entirely subconsciously of course. (Like Braveheart eh...) Well... my name is not Steven, but I do live on an island and it's MINE... And I do regularly converse with the Almighty.

My friend just returned from Aberdeen recently - said it was beautiful.

Madcow, no problem dude.

I was up in Aberdeen a couple of months ago, at a tattoo convention! Also my friend’s dad lives there as well. It is nice up there but can be a bit windy and cold during the winter! I live a bit further down, just north of Edinburgh, so it takes a couple of hours to drive up to Aberdeen.

x-wing, you were correct. It is mounted with an extra heatsink (the quick change kit) between the main hilt and extension piece. Just to clarify for vadeblade, one Luxeon lights the blade and the other lights up the ‘crystal’ chamber. It will have a crystal in it eventually but I need to find a decent one first!

Well, Vadeblade's the guy to talk to for crystals.[:)] If any of the ones he gave me would fit I'd be willing to pass on the love for the cost of shipping.

Yeah, got from ebay as well as some local stores (secret is to look for lots). I think most I paid was 5 bucks for 3 double-terminated crystals.

really awesome saber! very evil ad sith looking...me LIKE! [:D]
just one question: can you buy the prongs on mailorder???

I'm a fourteen year old swedish teenager...so be patient...

chaos

Enolmano

The company isn’t really a mail order place, they don’t have different design you can choose from. You have to send them your own design to get cut out!

But here’s the link to the site,

http://www.controlwaterjetcutting.co.uk/

it’s based down in England so I’m not sure if they’ll post outside of the UK. But since you’re only in Sweden they might.

Hope this helps.
