You may remember this hilt I did awhile back. I have always been a fan of LDM's 'Mustafar' series, particularly the Anakin. "What if Anakin survived Mustafar?...what if he recovered his saber and how would it look?...burned, charred, battle damaged, but intact."

Originally, this was a stunt with the stock plastic bladeholder. But I always had the intention of upgrading her. So here she is.

MR Anakin hilt weathered "Mustafar" style
TCSS Alum. bladeholder
P.C. v 1.5 with "Darkmeat" soundfont
LEDEngine 5W Red
Blinking accent LED in pommel
TCSS HO Speaker
Single 18650 3.7V Li-Ion battery solution
Recessed recharge port and aux. button

That looks really cool. I thought the PC needed 7.4v to operate properly? It sounds great. I also used Jay-Gons methord for installing my recharge port on my MHS Starkiller. It's nice & solid. :)

Nope, a single 18650 works fine at 2500 mAh (although I generally use 7.2-7.4V...this battery pack was already made up). Zook (MH) has almost always used a single 18650 in his PC builds.

I believe LDM had mentioned that it gets a little louder if you give it the full 7.4, or maybe it was Jay Gon's comparison video. That's good news that the 18650 works well with the PC, I have a ton of them from dead laptops and fitting two in a hilt is troublesome.

Nice. I always look forward to your builds. I really like your weathering technics.

I'm building two PC sabers right now that are using dual 18650 end-to-end battery packs and there's still space in the hilt. They really work well w/the PC.

As for the saber, that is a really nice build! Good work!

Remember one fact (that people often forget), a fully charged 3.7V Li-ion is actually about 4.2 V. Also, remember that LDM loves to use one battery when he partakes of Cram-fu so that feature had to go into hte PC when she was being designed ;)

Good Job Caine.

Loved this when you first posted it now love it more with pc sound. Alternative "reality" sabers really appeal to me, the whole what if of possibilities is endless.

Has anyone built an obiwan mustafar had anakin given him a whooping and it was his saber in the lava?

I still have to post my obiwan "as first rebuilt by" saber, and am in the process of rebuilding my "dark vaapad" mace windu saber.

Sabers like this inspire me to do some crazy things with mine. Keep them coming peopleseses'. Lol.

I think a cool effect would be to actually heat up a chrome sink tube so that it begins to discolor and then paint and weather it.

But I do like this a lot. Especially near the grips it looks perfect.

Yeah, LDM has actually done a few Mustafar Obi's. The first one he ever did was one for me, an MR stunt.

But the Anakin is the one I learned to really like the most. Dark Ani's seem to show up here and there and I always wanted to do my own. I just figured an homage saber would be appropriate since LDM has built me plenty of sabers the past couple years, lol

Painted it with black paint, let it dry...scratched it up with sandpaper to desired effect...two coats of clear coat and voila. I burned the grips with a lighter.

Thanks, but to make it clear, this isn't my series...it's an homage to my favorite series of LDM's. I am by no means an innovator in saberbuilding (never tried or wanted to), just a good copycat I guess, lol.

Now on saber combat....different story, hehe.

Very nice re-do of your weathered Anakin saber. I really like the sound. Can the TCSS Petit Crouton also operate on a single rechargable battery?

Yes, but I personally would use nothing less than an 18650.

Seriously man? you couldn't have looked literally 7 posts down from your question?

I believe LDM had mentioned that it gets a little louder if you give it the full 7.4, or maybe it was Jay Gon's comparison video.
If you watch that video again, pay special attention to "CS-35"....that saber was as loud as my CF 4.1 saber, and it ran a PC-U from a triple 14500 battery pack wired for 3.7volts. That saber doesn't have much space for a resonance chamber in it either, but the speaker is sealed against the inner wall of the saber (by being hot glued to the pvc speaker mount I used) and was vented behind it so it technically uses the entire saber as a resonance chamber.

oh, and btw, Caine, nice work on the saber! That pvc clip method for mounting switches and recharge ports really is easy, isn't it?

Thanks! And I love that PVC mounting technique, it's aces...thank you for that, too!
