Well my second build is finished, below i have included three pictures. The first is the original render i did in photoshop. the second is the finished saber next to the printer render i used as a ref through the build. and lastly is a short video on the saber. The build was a blast, and it took over 9 hours straight to wire and fit everything into the saber. i did all the polishing my self with a buffer kit and some wet-sanding paper from Home Depot. Here are some of the stats.

6v circuit
Blue P4
07 Hasbro/Fx board
Type 2 PLI
2 Av switches

This is the Original Render.

Here is a pic of the saber finished next to a printed render i did in Photoshop.

Nice! Looks clean. Funny how the wall looks pink/purple on cam. I have a p4 blue and haven't seen that in any of my pics. Must be the UV quality of that LED and your cam picking it up.

yeah the P4 blue puts out a lot of UV. write some stuff on a paper with a yellow highlighter and it'll glow bright when they're near. ^_^

Thx for all the replies, yeah I have to say the recessed PLI is my favorite part of the saber as well. It wa also the hardest part to get right. To do it I cut out 5 of the 7 ridges in a ribbed and groves extension. Then I mounted a peice of 4mm plastic card "the stuff uses in model building" as the non conductive ledge for the PLI to sit on. Once it was done I attached the PLI in place with a peice of double sided tape so I could move it around and get it aligned with the window I had cut.

This P4 Blue is by far the brightest iv seen in person. The walls in my house are a cream/tan color so there has to be pink pigment in there somewhere >.< my guess is it reacts with the uv! On a side note a natural weathering is happening on the black grip section form playin with it that is kinda cool. I'll have to take more pictures later.
