My apologies if there is a thread that covers this, but after a reasonably long search, I could not find one.

I picked up one of these today...

... intending to use the sound card in my saber. I removed the board and this is what I have.

Now the questions. Does anyone know of a wiring diagram for this board?

If not, does anyone have any thoughts on how to wire it?

Would it be possible to run a Luxeon III off this board?

Granted, I might be able to figure it out all by myself, but since there is an equal or better chance that I will fry the board I would appreciate any help I can get.

most people like to use the obiwan card as it's got better dimensions, but it should be pretty similar.

Is it just me or does your board say 'jiggle' on the sensor with the yellow wires??! :D

that above link is for the 2010 hasbro DVD (lightsaber duels) econo board. if its not one of those Ive got no idea!
Good luck!

Indeed, the hookup for the sensor is labeled "jiggle". I got a laugh out of that too. The Hasbro DVD boards are kinda similar, but different. This only has a single light and it has the extra switch to turn of Yoda's voice. I was hoping someone might have actually used one and be able to give me pointers. Of course, this hasn't been up long, so maybe someone will chime in. If not, I guess I'll just have to study all the other schematics, make a few educated guesses and just got for it.

the board you have will fit into the wiring diagrams for the econo board thread with no troubles. if you need the link again, it's in my sig.

Ok, I have used 2 of these boards in the past and hated their "jiggly" guts... here's why.

1. compared to other boards out there it is a pain to wire up as you have to splice wires, and can't use a transistor setup with this. Allowing only 350ma to the LED.

2. The yoda talking... I personally don't want yoda in my lightsaber saying the same phrases over and over and over and over... The talking "feature" is operated using a SPST latching switch. Slide it one way yoda trains... Slide it the other he shuts up (not really though, he always talks upon activation...). So, it is easy to remove, but more hassle and modification to the board.

so there are my two reasons not to use it... the sounds have a lot of static in them IMO. So i reccomend you go to target and get a nice economy OBI board.

However, if you do decide to use this board, you should use a P4, not a Lux III. This board will only give off 350ma. A LED likes 1000ma (1500 if you areusing red), so the blade will be dimmer, but not so dim it looks bad...

In my experience, the lamp wire is usually negative. You will have to splice from the Batt + wire in order for you to hook up a LED to this. Everything else looks good though.

Oh, don't give this board 6V... Yoda likes 4.5.;)

Thanks cardcollector. Your info means that this is not gonna be the card for me. Luckily, I picked it up at a thrift store for .99 cents, so no real loss. I might use it for a PVC saber for my son. He's a big Yoda fan and would likely enjoy the voice.
