First you need a image hoster. I use www.photbucket.com but there are many out there. You upload the image to them. They give you the url which then goes between the image tags you get with the button on the toolbar when you're writing. Then your picture will show up in the post.[:D]

Thank you again Xwing.

I'm having trouble posting pics on the forum. I used the directions above, but it still won't post. I noticed that the html is off in my profile, could that be the problem? I'm not that proficient with posting images, and am currently mystified...

html code doesn't matter for picture but forum codes must be on.

The insert image button is the 4th from the right on the toolbar. The tag in the text will be [img:dcc1f9c3d6]. You insert the url like www.imagehost.com/yourimage.jpg then close the tag by putting [/ img].
So it should look like [img:dcc1f9c3d6]www.imagehost.com/yourimage.jpg[/ img]. The space in the closing tag is only there so you can see the formatting otherwise it will think I actually was trying to put an image.[:p]

Photobucket automatically resizes if the image is above 512KB so I don't think it can get too big for you dial-up people. (dial-up... *shudders*[xx(])

I like to use photobucket because they are free, support making albums and have no limit to amount of pictures (I currently have up 4 pages of images).

Okay, I finally figured out how to show it exactly without it putting that broken image picture becuase it was just an example.

xwingband,

Ok, I went to the Photbucket.com website but it looks like it just redirects you to various other pay sites. I'm sure I'm missing something but I'm not sure where I go to upload my pics to them. Can you help direct me?

Thanks!!
Tiberius

Photobucket is free. You have to register though. Just click on the "Sign up now" box above the login.

I've only seen them for videos. imageshack is a common one too.

bumping.[:)] Now that we have a photo album you can upload here too. On the "all forums" page go to the bottom and click on "The Custom Saber Shop Photo Album" At the top there will be a button that says "Edit you album/upload files" From there you can browse to the file on your computer and upload it.

Now you can view the image from your photo album. You get the url the same way by right clicking on it when you view it. The limit to TCSS's photos are 120KB so if you have a large image either downsize it or use another imagehoster like www.photobucket.com or www.imageshack.us

Xwing I have been trying to figure this out for the longest time. I use photobucket, How do you downsize any picture to use it as a Avatar? I am also a member of the lining up board and they require 100x100 & <20K. Thanks

GForce...

I can help you with that if you want?

For those of you who do not have access to Photoshop or another imaging software package that allows you to shrink the file size down... you can try this handy online tool:
