Hello,

Here is my first full homemade lightsaber.
It's not my very first lightsaber, but the second, the first is a modified parks.

The idea was to use what could be phrik metal and cortosis fiber in star wars universe.
So the hilt would be virtually uncuttable for another lightsaber, especially the cell and crystal chamber area.
I used carbon fiber for the cortosis(dark fibers) and titanium for the hilt(dark aspect when sanded)

here is a pic of the work in progress, size and thickness search:

bottom is the good material:titanium,but too thin,especially inside(26mm,about 1"),and too long(30cm)
In fact it was my first titanium tube,I was not sure a bout the result.
top is the good shape:28cm long and 35mm large(about 1,5"),but from aluminum(inside is 31mm about 1 1/4").
I just have to make the same, but from titanium

Here is the pic of the definite saber hilt:

I used a 28cm long titanium tube, and some carbon tubing for the outside.
I will sand the titanium and carbon for the finish.

There is a additionnal emitter on the pic,for another project.

I am thinking about using the longest carbon sleeve to hide the crystal chamber, and let it visible when removing the carbon.

I will put 4 ni-mh AA cells and a US 2.5 inside,I have a blade holder for a 1" blade.
I would make a led chain for the blade, but I don't know if it's possible with the ultrasound?
I already have the US 2.5,and I already have the led chain, even not ye solded.
In the first time I would use 3/4" blades, but when I received the parks I discover it's too flexible for a battle use, even it is 0,125" walled.
So I will finally use 1" blade,and 0,08" walled

With a ladder blade and US 2.5, you won't get the scrolling effect. Only boards that support scrolling at the moment are MRFX, Makoto board, and the soon-to-come ladder-supporting CF version.

That's looking pretty cool. I like the carbon fiber tube.

Make it as awesome and detailed as the materials you have there. ;)

Hi all, sorry for a very late reply...
I had no job when I began this saber,so I couldn't do any serious work on it...
For the moment it's quite sleeping,I just made a special finish on titanium.
But now I have a new job,and it's easy for me to turn, drill and machine material like carbide or hard steel,so I think this lightsaber will change in a couple of months...
I already started on my obiwan lightsaber.
